  • MY WRONGS is as unexpected as we'd expect from [Chris Morris]... Obtuse, vicious, occasionally upsetting and a little queasy. A different kind of entertainment

    Genius

This one is probably for fans of Chris Morris only. It has a very strange sense of humour, with a man having his life run by a talking dog. This is a very short film, so if you do rent it, i'd have another film ready to watch afterwards.

    A Perfect Study of Paranoia

If you enjoyed Blue Jam (Radio) or Jam (TV) you'll enjoy this. Yes the main film is only 10 minutes long, but it is a feature quality production. Also there are some other entertaining bits and bobs on there so it'll give you half an hour's pleasure at least. Of course that's the beauty of postal rental: it's not sometime you'd want to keep but not something you'd find in your local video shop either ...

    .. It's a dogs life!

Twelve minute short from comedian (sic?) Chris Morris, concerning a loner's mental downward spiral after 'dog-sitting' a talking doberman! .. An aquired taste, but great to see original material set in London, with a few familiar faces only normally seen in TV sitcoms ..

    Ummmmmm

Right, ok....This is a strange film. Only 12 minutes long and very very odd throughout. It makes a good representation of a mentally ill person in the deep throes of a psychotic episode. It made me cringe and laugh in equal amounts. Very, very odd indeed. The best bit was the 'Babra Woodhouse'remix which was, for me, better than the main feature and should be on MTV. I'm amazed that this was not a club hit! Get it alongside something more normal and use it as an appetizer or when you are in the mood for something 'Chris Morris' - once again a full nine yards further than anyone in comedy is willing to go. Paddy Considine is again really unnerving (as he is in Dead Man's Shoes). I'm going to watch something bland now just to get my head together.

    Completely Hatstand!

This is right out there. Completely hatstand! I heartily recommend this as another highly original, disturbing and in places very funny piece of Chris Morris inspired work. I'm not sure of it's actually from it, but it's certainly in the vein of that TV series he had out - Jam I think it was called. Dark humour.

One for Paddy Considine/Chris Morris completists only

When I began watching this dvd I had the feeling I'd seen the film before on tv.And that's essentially where is should remain. The ever quirky Chris Morris is responsible for this short piece of hokum, which I rented purely as an admirer of the works of Mr Considine, whose star continues to rise.It does not add much to his canon or stretch him sufficiently. It seems to be quirk for quirk's sake.A talking dog taking its minder for a trip to the park,on a bus and to a christening, creating mayhem and chaos along the way.Ho hum.

    Strange

This is very odd, not really my thing. Also it is only 12mins long. If you are into really obscure, dark comedy then it might be worth a look.
