    The Memories...

What can i say if you are ages between 28 to 32 you will have seen most of these, and if you are like me would of watched them all while eating your dinner.... what can i say, this is simply a gripping storyline, fantastic special effects, and an endearing friendship.

It also has one of the best starting songs ever made.... all together now....

Do, do do, do do do, do do do

    Childern of the sun,

See your time has just begun,

    searching for the days,

    through adventure everyday,

    Everyday and night,

    with the condor in flight,

with all your friends in tow,

we search of the cities of gold....

Ahhhhh, ahhh ahhhh, someday we will find the cities of goooooold.

Ahhhhh, ahhh ahhhh, someday we will find the cities of goooooold.

..... fantastic!!!! :) lol i will be singing this all day now.

    As Good As Ever

There are very few things from the 80s that were actually any good, let alone things from the 80s that are still good today. Fortunately, having re-lived all 39 episodes of this epic story, I can quite honestly say that Cities of Gold is still brilliant.

Didn't realise at the time that many of the episodes are loosely based on facts concerning the Mayans, Incas, Aztecs and other south american civilisations of the past and I certainally didn't remember the mini documentaries that followed the end of each and every eposode, which were both enlightening and informative and added to the great story quite a lot but no wonder I got so involved in the series back then, I must have believed it was almost real at the time.

All I know is that when i was about 8 or 9 years old Cities of Gold was the only thing that mattered on TV and (with the exception of Transformers and He-Man) this is the only thing I remember anything about from 80s kids TV.

I'm sure I never saw the end of the series back then, couldn't even remember anything about how the series progreessed before renting this (with the exeption of the fact that the solar powered golden condor seemed to crash a lot when it clouded over) and I am happy that I have now seen this series again right the way through.

On the virge of of being a timeless classic if it hasn't become one already. If you're now old enough to start becoming a little nostalgic about your childhood during the 80s there is no better way to do so than with this series. Essential.
