A complete reinvention of this forgotten classicBy Daniel Bromley from Kent, England , 18 Aug 2004
[Highly rated reviewer]If you've ever seen this movie on video or television, you've not really seen it at all. The DVD version of the movie is the proper cut, all the versions before made absolutely no sense as they cut out key scenes and all the best action sequences! Therefore, if you've seen it before, it's worth watching it again.
If you've not seen the movie, it's an action thriller about a young woman (Chingmy Yau: City Hunter, Return of the God Of Gamblers) being trained by a martial arts specialist to become a professional assassin. She then starts to fall for the policeman (Simon Yam: Once Upon A Time in China, Miracles) that is investigating the carnage left behind by herself and her unhinged temmate. Think Basic Instinct meets Assassin or Nikita.
The action is top notch and very creative, even the most jaded western and eastern action cinema buff will still smile and go wow at some of the fight scenes. The acting is suprisingly good for a movie of this genre, it's not all punch and no brains.
Oh and yes guys, the female assassins are gorgeous. Unfortunately this movie has got the cheeziest soft porn flick looking cover and an 18 certificate to back up that assumption but the movie is much more A Better Tomorrow than Sex & Zen.
The movie is in cantonese with subtitles which might be a probem for some people but there's a dub (which this reviewer doesn't recommend) if that puts you off. There's also a commentary track which is very enlightening and interesting, so if you enjoyed the movie, don't forget to play it a second time with the commentary before you take it back.
A thoroughly enjoyable action thriller that is something quite different and special.

Everything is a weapon, even your body...By a customer , 12 Apr 2011
THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS Show review anywayHideNaked Killer is an erotic action thriller, made by Hong Kong Legends Studio, directed by Clarence Fok Liu-Yeung, written by Jing Wong. Chingmy Yau is a regular girl from China, caught up in crime and violence, and as a result she must learn how to fight back, becoming the student of the mature but still very attractive Sister Cindy, played by Wai Yiu. She trains her up and Miss Yau goes from girl next door to drop dead gorgeous assassin! She works her way up the food chain, which builds up to a confrontation with the other two beautiful hit-women, Baby and Princess. All the while, a young go getting policeman, Simon Yam, must decide what choice to make in life... carry out his orders as a policeman, or follow the love of his life. This film is a fun action film, with plenty of sex and violence to keep the teen audience happy! I did enjoy this film, but I don't think it was the best Chinese action film. I still believe that is a tie between Hard Boiled and The Killer. For the most part I'd recommend this film. If looks could kill, then the four actresses playing these roles would get life sentences for murder! :)
Never boring & Chingamy Yau is yummyBy Shege (2 reviews) from Manchester , 04 Jul 2009Very entertaining slash bang wallop movie. Cinematography clearly inspired by the primary colour washes of the 80s, but perhaps also by Dario Argento's style of blood and beauty. The plot is not very robust, the dialogue pretty stilted, but I'm guessing that anyone renting a film called 'Naked Killer' is not looking for deep philosophical resonances. Here lie the roots of the Chan-wook Park's ultra-violence revenge tragedies.
dosn't quite workBy filmhound (27 reviews) from London , 19 Mar 2008this film is an attempt to make a murder film erotic, it dosn't work, the girls are very pretty and dressed to kill in more ways than one but the whole thing comes over as a bit pointless and very unbelieveable. Not very well directed at any level and certainly not at a sexual level. there is a lot more to erotic than dressing lovley girls up in sexy clothes and moving them about the screen. Poor in almost every way,I rate it 2 star only because (some) of the girls are very nice to look at
Sweet (not sour) thrills!By a customer from London , 01 Jul 2007An erotic masterwork.
Great acting, fantastic story and some of the hottest Sapphic action this side of 'Illusions'.
Watch it now!
Hot, but unoriginalBy Richard Wagner from London , 29 Dec 2006I have seen several movies that follow a similar story line. Some beautiful Chinese assassin falls in love with a cop, etc.
The music was decent, the sex scenes were hot, and Chingamy Yau's were subtle and erotic. She doesn't actually show anything, but her body is a work of art, with all the right curves.
So, mainly for Chingamy Yau, and I mean she was actually good, not just good looking, I give this film a 3 out of 5. It is worth seeing, but nothing spectacular.
