    British stereotypes over the top

While I quite enjoyed the main plot and acting, I found the portrayal of every white Briton as either arrogant or racist or both, as offensive. Maybe this was meant to be funny or satirical, it didn't strike me that way.

For instance, from a pompous old-school Englishman to an Asian: if you marry my daughter you must change your name to Immanuel or Ian, become baptised as a Christian and sign a form that you are not a terrorist. In fact written down it sounds so OTT as to be almost funny, but in the context of the film it wasn't, it was just unpleasant.

Why did people give this film a bad review!?!?

This film is very good and extremely funny at times. Both Katrina and Akshay acted very well and some of the songs are so good, their addictive! The film looks at cultural differences and summarises well what is going on in Britain today. You've got an out of control Indian/Pakistani girl who wants to marry a white boy. What do her parents do - drag her to India/Pakistan and ger her married to the first Indian/Pakistani they get their hands on. Its not stereotypical, ITS FACT. So why are people getting so offended? The director of this film has told it like it is! People need to take a chill pill - their too busy defending their ways. Anyway - watch this film, it's romantic, funny and has a good story line!!!
