[Highly rated reviewer]If, like most of my family, you saw this for rental and expressed disbelief that people would want to watch it, let me tell you now this dvd isn't for you! I love Neighbours, admittedly not enough to buy this dvd, but enough to want to see it. If you like the show though, I'd recommend it.
For reference, because I don't think this is shown on the site, the episodes on this discinclude weddings of Libby and Drew and Brad and Beth; birth of Ben Kirk and of Paul and Christinas' baby; deaths of Jim, Madge and Helen... plus a few others I can't remember now.
I had a bit of a chuckle, and a couple of episodes I was quite glad to see again. Generally... I think it's a bit disappointing that it was restricted to births marriages and deaths when the title is"defining moments". I'd be willing to bet most fans wouldn't pick any of these episodes.
Anyway, I'd recommend it for a bit of fun. It's funny seeing old characters you'd forgtten about, and existing characters five or ten years ago.... I had forgotten Lou wasn't always... portly (!) and Karl wasn't always thinning on top!
Rent it if only to see how BAD it can be- as my family have pointed out, I'm in denial about the current actors and storylines because I'm more involved in them. When you watch random episodes out of sequence... you have to laugh really :). It's bad... very bad.

THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS Show review anywayHideThis compilation was brilliant! If you were a die hard fan back then - you will love this!
Lots of brilliant episodes - don't expect more recent ones though - we are talking the 80's and 90's.
It brought it all back...Jim, Scott, Charlene, Madge, Harold, Helen. Brilliant!

did not like it at all.
FlashbackBy Colin F from Newtownards , 27 Nov 2007It was like being back in the 80's, forgot how much i loved neighbours back then, great to see these old episodes again, esp the full Scott & Charlene wedding, also read online that new episode collections are due soon in Australia focusing on selected characters, If u loved it back then you'll love it now!
If you were a fan back thenBy a customer from Lincoln , 19 Nov 2007If you were a true and proper fan this is worth seeing. But, as every other review also says, it is true that these are not the episodes you would have necessarily have chosen as your defining favourites.
Also, like most reviews say, the first disc is not that good and only has a few episodes on it - presumably to make way for the special bonus 'gallery'. But disc 2 is great, it has about 8 proper episodes on! and its great to remember people you totally had forgotten - so DONT be put off by disc 1!!!
