New Zealand songwriter Neil Finn made his name in successful 1980's bands Split Enz (fronted by his brother Tim) and Crowded House. With his solo work, Finn has become considered one of the adult alternative genre's most intelligent and sophisticated songwriters. 7 WORLDS COLLIDE captures the best of a series of live performances that Finn and special guest vocalists Eddie Vedder, Lisa Germano, and Tim Finn staged in Auckland, New Zealand during April 2001. With an all-star band made up of The Smiths' guitarist Johnny Marr and Radiohead drummer Phil Selway and guitarist Ed O'Brien, the singers perform a set of music which includes a moving performance of the Smiths' classic lament, "There is a Light That Never Goes Out."

Anyone bothering to rent this is probably well aware of Neil Finns talents but the all star cast he gathers for this run of gigs shows just how respected and liked he is among his peers .. and what a lineup! Johnny Marr from the Smiths etc.. Eddie Veder of Pearl Jam, the drummer and bassist from Radiohead and Lisa Germano a wonderful artist on the 4AD [DCD/Cocteau Twins] label. Simply not to be missed.. especially Neils covering of the Smiths classic 'There is a Light that Never Goes Out'.
very well crafted gig. good songs and a good concert
