The conclusion of the NEON GENESIS EVANGELION series was one of the most confounding moments to be found in anime. For as many people that were exhilarated by its mystery, there were those who were just plain angry. Still, it is obvious that EVANGELION is one of the most popular, and arguably one of the best animes ever produced, and is one of the rare sci-fi series that actually follows through on the ambitious themes and ideas that it presents. That follow through is THE END OF EVANGELION, a 90 minute feature that picks up right where episode 24 (as well as DEATH & REBIRTH) of the series left off to provide, well, an end to the series. Beautiful, compelling, confusing, and provocative, THE END OF EVANGELION is all that it promises and more.

I saw Ghost in the Shell 2 and understood all of it, however i dont get this at all, just a series of random images really. no storyline to it, if i didnt know the title i would of assumed it was a graphics demo!
Evangelion is an action packed explosive sci-fi series. I have seen parts of the series but only this movie in full. This was my first mistake.
Although I was able to appreciate most parts of the film when looking at it from a technical viewpoint, understanding it was a different story. The end of evangelion is the concluding part of the highly complex series. No sane person will be able to draw any conclusions from this film other than it is ridiculous.
However if decide to continue watching after the first 15 minutes of name dropping and horrific violence, and you can ignore the fact you have no idea whets going on, this can be quite enjoyable. For a manga of its type it has glorious animation and likeable characters.
The dialogue is well scripted and works well in dubbed conversion. To me this film was more of an abstract piece as I was able to enjoy the visuals but working out any meaning was far beyond me. This could be my ignorance but according to a few other reviews I have read my experts the film is a bit of a mess.
