Still not sure what to make of this. There is definitely something within the storyline, something really meaty and mindbending. This disc portrays some dark dealing with the NERV project and the Eva's. Whatever the Eva's are etc is something. The discovery at the end of the final episode makes getting the next disc worthwhile. But there is a but. Some of the animation is just shoddy, I know this is old but still. Then there is some of the sideline stories that are just plain bizarre. I always thought Evangelion was a slightly kids manga series but the level of sexual innuendo is rife, all the kids are 14 so its kind of weird.
All in all still worth watching.- Was this review helpful to you?

(8)Superb anime
By timtim (13 reviews) from Tunbridge Wells, England , 07 Jun 2011Second volume in one of the biggest anime series of all time. Usually I stay away from overly pop stuff, but this series has to be watched end to end in sequence, and with the new end of evangelion feature film ending.
If you watch it this way you are in for a thorough treat. This is the second volume and things are just starting to warm up. Sit back and enjoy!- Was this review helpful to you?

nothing wrong with the episodes just the number of episodes on the disc
By a customer from Manchester, England , 14 Oct 2009In the first volume of Neon Genesis Evangelion, there were 5 episodes but in this one there are only 4, and one of them is episode 5 from the previous volume, so in truth, you only get 3 new episodes. Dont get me wrong, I am really enjoying the story of this animé, really can't wait for the next volume, I was just really dissapointed by the quantity of episodes.- Was this review helpful to you?

What has happened to Sat morning TV?!
By MichaelJames (21 reviews) from Exeter , 26 Sep 2008I originally caught Neon Genisis about five years ago on the scifi channel, but couldnt really follow it as missed a few due to work or a hangover on a Saturday morning! So it was great to be able to get back into this series via ILoveFilm. Now I admit its not half as good as I remembered it, but its certainly an enjoyable watch, and the feeling of it building towards something bigger is what is keeping me getting the next discs.
I must just say though I am a bit miffed with ILF... my first two discs (2+3 I brought vol 1 years ago) where from the platinum collection but disc four was from the original dvd release... The problem being the platinum collection have more episodes per disc, so I had already seen the episodes contained on disc 4...- Was this review helpful to you?
