Drew Barrymore does what she does best — cute, funny romance — in this simple teen comedy. She plays a bumbling young copy editor on the Chicago Sun-Times who gets a chance to prove herself as a reporter when she's sent undercover to a high school to find out what students get up to nowadays. It also gives her the chance to rewrite her own painful school memories — she was the class nerd — and get that first, memorable kiss she never had. She also falls for English teacher Michael Vartan, which sets off a rather predictable chain of events. Yet, thanks to Barrymore's infectious performance, a fun turn from David Arquette (as her slightly odd older brother) and a minor role for Leelee Sobieski, this is enjoyable fare.
Mildly amusing comedy of a clash between generations, in which the teens are cool and the adults are silly; teenagers are most likely to enjoy it.
this is a very romantic film. This DVD in my daughter Morwenna's opinion, is the best she has ever seen. she could watch it over and over again and never get bored. she really loved the characters and the story, of a girl who was a geek in high school wanting to be one of the cool girls, who falls in love with her teacher.
She requests the help of her brother, whose wish it has always been to be part of a football team. Everyone immediately loves him, and by pretending to have been Josie's boyfriend and still being crushed that it wasn't meant to be, she slowly becomes accepted.
it is well worth renting out.
Enjoyed this film a lot, if your into girl meets boy films this could be for you. As with all these kind of films you know what is going to happen but you dont care as everyone likes a slussy film every now and again
The directors of Dumb & Dumber, There's Something About Mary and Shallow Hal are back with their latest offering, as The Perfect Catch comes to UK cinemas. The Farrelly brothers have turned their attention to an American version of the football film Fever Pitch, which starred Colin Firth and Ruth Gemmell, and was based on the Nick Hornby novel. In The Perfect Catch, the sport in question is baseball, and it tells the story of Boston Red Sox fanatic Ben, played by Jimmy Fallon. He falls for... Read more
