Rib tickling
By Amit (21 reviews) from Fleet, UK , 05 Oct 2007[Highly rated reviewer]
Funny and socially relevant even for the present times. When we have a divide every where, the movie brings out the message of ironing the differences amongst the human race and moving forward together. Kishore Kumar is fabulous as always but what strikes you is a brilliant balance of performances from Nasir Hussain (as Daulat Ram Khanna), Radha Krishan (as Sadhu Ram) and rest of the crew. More so, you should be able to view how 'Delhi' looked almost 60 years back.- Was this review helpful to you?

Socially Relevant Theme
By Abhay (8 reviews) from Ipswich , 12 Aug 2008A good movie with a socially relevant theme even in the 21st century......In the post independence era rather than being known as Hindustani people were beng segregated based on the states viz., Punjabi, Gujrati, Maharashtrians, Tamilians etc...
The film starts off with Kishore Kumar (a most versatile actor) arrivng in New Delhi and looking for a place to stay. He is not able to rent a place and hence has to describe himself as a tamilian to rent a place....One lie leads to another thus creating a lot of fun.
Music is quite good with some evergreen songs like Nakhrewali, Milte hi Nazar. The film tends to be a bit slow at times but worth watching.- Was this review helpful to you?
