New York Dolls - Royal Festival Hall 2004

Barely surviving the ravages of time, The New York Dolls managed to reconvene for a spectacular comeback show in 2004. Original members David Johansen, Arthur "Killer" Kane, and Sylvain Sylvain were aided by a few auxiliary members for this show, but although in true Dolls form, the performance was laced with tragedy as Kane passed away shortly afterwards. Ex-Smiths singer Morrissey invited them to play at an event he was organising in London, and the surviving members decided to bite the bullet and take to the stage. The results perfectly demonstrated how the band have been such a huge influence on a wide variety of performers, with Johansen and co. tearing up the stage with a youthful vigour that belies their real ages. Among the tracks performed were "Looking For A Kiss," "Trash," "Another Piece of my Heart," and of course "Personality Crisis."
