    Avoid

This movie was so rubbish, i was glad that it didn't last long. It is a bit of a mystery that all falls into place at the end but there is not much to the film. There is nothing sexy about this film unless you like seeing people giving each other nose bleeds whilst they are having sex.

    Well made but derivative plot

This is a very stylish Norwegian entry into the much cluttered thriller-with-a-twist genre. The first 30-40 minutes are absorbing and intriguing - something that Michael Haneke fans would lap up in large scoops. Then a few very unsubtle hints give the whole plot away and therein is a fault in the Director's lack of respect for his audience, something normally associated with Hollywood.

Hopefully you haven't seen a film like it, or the plot isn't as transparent as it was for me - in which case this would easily be a 4-star contender. I just feel that a few more red-herrings and less clues so early on would have greatly benefitted a larger viewing public.

This gripe aside, the Direction is very assured and the acting (especially the lead male) very convincing, and all-in-all, a movie that I would have liked to give 4 stars to.

    Give it a go

This was not my type of film but my husband thoroughly enjoyed. It's about a man who becomes friendly with his neighbours.

    Good up to a point

I have to agree with many of the reviews. This s stylish, reasonably tense movie that for about the first hour leaves you intrigued and absorbed. It's a pleasure to see a director working with a small cast who give solid performances and doesn't get lost excessive obfuscation. Unfortunately the denouement is extremely disappointing. The writer just seems to have totally run out of ideas. Nevertheless, it is worth watching for the atmospheric build up, and you suspect the director capable of good things. You just need forgive all involved for the ending.

    Next Door

Yea,well.... a word of warning to all those who sit and open a bottle of wine for a night home at 70 mins long you'll just get one or two down. Too short to be a film. However it is a really cracking story that Hitchcock would have taken longer to tell, rightly or wrongly. It's story line it cannot be faulted on and it got 3 for that.
