Terrific romantic comedy, all the more laudable for being the first feature from up-and-coming indie director Brad Anderson. Hope Davis plays Erin, a Boston night-shift nurse who swears off men after she's dumped by her boyfriend. Her mother, though, has other ideas and places a personal ad on her daughter's behalf. The film then chronicles Erin's reluctant return to the meet market. Philip Seymour Hoffman (Happiness, Magnolia) is the best-known face among the supporting cast.

One of the Most Romantic Films

Brad Anderson (The Machinist) writes and directs this truly romantic movie. With little money and a big heart, Next Stop Wonderland offers real performance from an ensemble cast that includes Hope Davis (Daytrippers, About Schmidt, American Splendor)and Philip Seymour Hoffman (Happiness, Love Liza, Boogie Nights). It's a simple love story, beautifully told and heart warming in a not too cheesy way.
