One of the Most Romantic Films
By a customer from London, UK , 17 May 2005[Highly rated reviewer]
Brad Anderson (The Machinist) writes and directs this truly romantic movie. With little money and a big heart, Next Stop Wonderland offers real performance from an ensemble cast that includes Hope Davis (Daytrippers, About Schmidt, American Splendor)and Philip Seymour Hoffman (Happiness, Love Liza, Boogie Nights). It's a simple love story, beautifully told and heart warming in a not too cheesy way.- Was this review helpful to you?

ITS NOT A COMEDY
By skeadugenga (148 reviews) from Reading , 03 Jul 2008This is a romantic drama, not a romantic comedy and as such was something of a disappointment. True there are a few gentle laughs, but the heroine is a drag for most of the time, moping around reading her dead father's poetry, trying to get over her awful ex-boyfriend and rowing with her desperate mother who is still trying to get over the loss of her husband. Our hero is a pleasant enough ordinary chap, but some of the plot to do with fish was just the other side of believable. I can only hope that his previous experience with wet fish will prepare him for life with this girl.
If you were hoping for something funny, light and cheering, this isn't it.- Was this review helpful to you?
