  • Great film to showcase Steve's martial art talent!

    [Highly rated reviewer]

Nico is Seagal's first film, and is pretty good, expect alot of viloence, as Steve prefer's fighting to cover up his poor acting skills. Nevertheless this is one of his finest films!!

  • Seagal films

I have always been a Seagal fan and i know he as a lot of haters. But to summarize in better detail. Any film made before 2000 is great to watch. His films went down hill when he decided to write them himself. Nico, Out for justice, Hard to kill, Marked For death, Glimmer man, Above the law, Under siege 1 and 2 are all great films. If you want a Seagal film then choose one of those. Everything else ain't very good but would suggest trying Fire down below, That was okay.

  • Seagal before the hype and the flab!

    Rated - 3.5 stars

Seagal's first and one of his best!

He has lost the flab, got the pony-tail and his Aikido moves are real and bone crunching. There is no false face slapping, like in some of his later films and he can actually run without looking like he was on Baywatch reserves.

Also in the same mould and worth a look are: Out for Justice, Marked for Death and probably his most famous (Aikido movie) Hard to Kill...

  • The old ones are the best

Not sure if this is Steven's first of the bitch-slapping series but it certainly went on to take some beating. The face on the cover picture tells it all. The bad guys have opened up a tin of wup-ass and you really have to pity them. Classic Steven Segal at the top of his game and the fittest you'll ever see him.

  • Blu-ray is uncut

Just to let potential viewers know, the UK Blu-ray release features the original/correct title of the movie, Above the Law, and restores all the violence cuts from the video releases. That means that this is the first uncut version of this film to be seen since the original cinema release in 1988. Grab it while you can, since it has yet to be officially rated by the BBFC so technically it's an illegal release and will be withdrawn soon.

reading the reviews I learnt this was Seagals first film, I found it to been full of action from beginning to end, this was viewed as a family and enjoyed very much, one of Seagals best films.
