Night Watch
20th September 2011
truly excellent adaptation of the the book of the same name. Russia is the perfect setting for an epic clash of light and dark 'others' whom either protect or prey on humans in moscow, excellently shot with a crip anti hollywood approach a little like the original blade, the acting is spot on and the book really has had justice done. very nice to see a convincing anti hero in Anton (the main character). absolutly nothing is done ham fistedly and stylish subtlety is deffinatly the watchword here, and even more refeshingly the sequel daywatch is done just as well with returning cast members to tie up the story. at the moment this kind of thing is very in right now but this film and its sequel are a cut above the usual churned out supernatural fodder. on for serious fans of the genre and it may make real fans from the casual viewer, rent this then but daywatch on the list as well!!
