Alice (Lisa Wilcox) goes through the blood-stained looking glass in one of the best Freddy Krueger episodes, given a wonderfully different European art-horror feel by future blockbuster director Renny Harlin. Winning Wilcox takes on the talents of her deceased friends to become the Dream Master, the ancient guardian of positive scenarios, poised to counterattack Freddy's negative nightmares in this beautifully photographed redefinition of the pop-culture formula. Harlin puts a fresh spin on the recurring nightmare cliché and there's a marvellous scene where Wilcox is flung into the on-screen action from a cinema balcony. A better symbol of the effectiveness of this particular segment of the potent box-office series would be hard to find.
A mixture, as before, of spectacularly unpleasant special effects and grotesque humour, except that Freddy is now firmly established as the star.
The dislocated nightmare logic of Wes Craven's original has now been reduced to a black comic carnival ride designed to... read more on Time Out
Yes , hes back...and yes he is after you again, so dont fall asleep whilst watching it..you know what will happen.
Fans of the 'Elm Street' series seem to think this is one of the best of the sequels, but I have to differ. The plot is completely non-existent, killing off the last survivors from the previous episode, including the girl who conquered Freddy then by controlling others in her dreams, and replacing her with another girl who...has some power over dreams. The result is tedious familiarity, I'm afraid, leavened by a little rather desperate humour.
One stand-out scene, though: the girl who gets turned into a cockroach is brilliantly conceived by Screaming Mad George. The rest, though, has Renny Harlin's dull, boorish stamp all over it.
Very well thought out, good plot, even some good acting from the blonde dimbo's!
Thought I would have a look at this but being the 4th one it was very predictable so a bit boring
Maybe the Director would accept this saga if it were the first or second production. However, this is the fourth and there is only repetition involving another set of characters. Unfortunately, because of this attitude within the production, I found it a waste of time and lacking an objective.

It's not a bad movie, but not too adventurous with the plot. The theme is the same, but I think this was the time when freddie could be finally killed off. especially when the plot centered round the Dream Master - somebody who acted as a protector in somebody's drem, and destroyed anything that meant harm to the dreamer. Overall, I liked it, but would not be in a hurry to watch it again.
THESE FILMS WILL ALWAYS BE AROUND BECAUSE THEY ARE A LOT BETTER THAN THE RUBBISH THEY CALL HORROR MOVIES NOW.YOU WILL NEVER GET HORRORS LIKE THIS ANYMORE
