What great TV is all about!

Compelling viewing from start to finish. Christian and Sean bungle their way through the world of plastic surgery and provide interesting viewing along the way! They lurch from one crisis to another with Sean being the straight hard thinker and Christian the womanising oh so sexy eye candy. Filmed in glamourous settings, including the OR, sharp suits and sexy stars with gritty realism in the shots of the plastic surgery. A real must for all drama fans

    Nip Tuck V ER

When I first saw the ads for nip tuck I wasn’t that impressed. Here we go another ER type thing with a touch of Beverly Hills 90210, but I was very, very wrong.

The cast and well written scripts had me at the first 20 minutes.

Julian McMahon (Christian Troy) is the ultimate playboy, no strong relationships, a great believer in open and constant sexual activity.

Then we have Dylan Walsh (Sean McNamara) the family man, caring, over protective (of his family and his business partnership with Troy), who “feels” just a bit too much.

These two different characters make the series believable. The business of plastic surgery is very profitable, but it does have its downfalls as this series shows.

Most people will enjoy the fast story lines and very good special effects (surgical effects). Series 2 and now Series 3 (which airs in the UK mid October) will keep you all on the edge of your seats.

    FANTASTIC

Absolutely fantastic, so much so I couldn't wait to watch the second series which is currently being viewed on SKY at the moment that I bought a DVD from ebay and have now seen the whole second series in a matter of days! Oh my God, I can't wait for the third series, it gets better and better. If you are a drama series addict then you have to watch this from the beginning. Gripping stuff through and through.

    Top ten TV

Americans make the best TV in the world - and the worst of course along with us Brits - but Nip/Tuck is top ten top telly.

West Wing is at number 1, Soppranoes at 2 and Six Feet Under a close 3rd - Nip Tuck is for me at 4 or 5.

It well written - original - intelligent - moving and funny - great pathos like all the above.

This is the way to watch this kind of a show - one episode after another on DVD - don't miss it.

    Plastic (Surgery) Fantastic!

Nip/Tuck is a welcome break from the current crop of Series coming out of America. For a start LAW is not a central issue (quite the opposite sometimes) so it's not based around police and lawyers. Now on to what it IS... The Series is based on two old school friends (Sean and Christian) who went through Uni together and started a small private plastic surgery in Miami. The lives of these two are the central focus of the show, but many of the lives of the secondary characters around them are also part of the show as well.

The troubles of the two really start when Sean who is a more by the book kind of guy suffers a mid life crisis, Disillusioned with world of plastic surgery he wants to start doing pro bono work (basically free or heavily subsidised). His marriage to Julie is starting to fall apart and his son Matt is showing him little respect. This does not hold well with Christian who quite opposite to Sean is an amoral character into money, fast cars and women (very attractive women at that). But all is not well in Christian’s world either, he wants the only women he can’t have (I’ll let you guess who), his new girlfriend isn’t altogether ‘stable’ and he’s beginning to take on very questionable work from very questionable people.

Watch it to find out more ;) Enjoy.

    Engrossing

When I heard my work mates talking about this show in the office, I was not really all that interested! Then I saw that the new series is on Sky One now, so I thought I would use this service to rent it out!

I was totally engrossed in the show and watched all five discs back to back.

What I like especially was the catchphrase......

'What don't you like about yourself'

and what I would do is guess what it was.

I also liked the fact that the cast had their own problems in life and ironically thought they could fix other people's before they attempted to work on their own.

    A billiant American Drama!

    Superb, quality trash TV

I love this programme. It's outrageous, vile, clever, funny and says a lot about society. Most of all it's got great original ideas. I love everything about it and can't fault it.

    Great TV Series

Really enjoyed watching it again on DVD after having followed the original screening on TV and missed the occasional episode.

    Great fun

I love nip tuck but missed the early episodes. I have been renting the discs to catch what I missed. It is really silly but such fun. I find myself gasping at their antics. If you like a bit of escapism and the odd bit of hunky eye candy then nip/tuck is for you.
