A top class Hitchcock masterpiece of the highest calibre.By roncoach (370 reviews) from suffolk , 08 Dec 2011
[Highly rated reviewer]Alfred Hitchcock and Cary Grant making one of cinema's Top 100 Films of all time.
A top-notch thriller with all the suspense and fascinating storyline associated with Hitchcock. I have a feeling that any of the major filmstars could have played the Cary Grant role and it would not have detracted from the film.
The plot starts off with action, mystery and suspense.....and then grows scene by scene right up to the most thrilling climax.
It's hard to find any faults. It's the best colour, best photography, best editing, best supporting actors, best storyline, best screenplay.
I suppose the female lead might be the weak link, but it seems churlish to try and find fault, especially as Eve Marie Saint does not seem to put a foot wrong.
It's a film for all the family to enjoy and bite their nails and wonder why ' they don't make em like this anymore'.
Very Highly Recommended.

An InspirationBy Breathe (40 reviews) from Leeds , 18 Oct 2011How can you criticise a Hitchcock movie? To this day, the work of this exceptional talent is still superb to watch and without doubt an inspiration to many a future director.
Classic scenes such as the crop duster sequence, the chase on top of 'Mount Rushmore', are just fantastic to watch, but it is the whole feel of the movie which draws you in. The build up to the crop duster plane flying low and chasing Grant is just as good as the action sequence itself. Because that was what Hitchcock was all about...tension, giving the audience that little hint of what they are in for, just before he hits you with it.
Perfect for anyone who has good taste in filmsBy dumbolives (269 reviews) from Shetland , 19 Sep 2011If you love Cary Grant then there is no way you couldn't love this film...he is pefect as the confused ad agency man who gets caught up in a government plot and has to try and save the day.
This film has literally everything in it and the cast are fantastic to boot. It is funny, tense, sweet...there's action and romance and intrigue. The whole thing is just a work of art if you ask me. I loved the script, the twists and turns in the story and everything was just so well thought out that no matter how far fetched the story may be it never really feels like it is!
Absolutely brilliant film and that's all there is to say about it really.

Hitchcocks BestBy chazzd91 (12 reviews) , 08 Sep 2011I hadn't seen this all the way through, only in bits. A great film. And a huge Cary Grant fan. Went on a bit longer than I thought, but not complaining!

North by North WestBy a customer , 11 Jun 2011Was busy looking out for Hitchcock in the opening scenes as he always made a cameo appearance. This time trying to get on a trolley car - or was it a bus? Anyway really enjoyed revisiting this old movie. Interesting how films have changed!
