Beloved for its strong writing, acting, and quirky characters, the program views the remote Alaskan town of Cicely through the eyes of young New York Jewish doctor Joel Fleischman (Rob Morrow). Joel is forced into setting up practice in the town after failing to read the fine print on a med school grant, but discovers that the unusual townspeople are not as backwards and intolerable as he surmised.

    Hilarious and Inventive

    I remember these from terrestrial, they really are funny, and inventive and thought provocking. It's Series 3 the characters have settled down, Maurice and Holling get to enjoy being cowboys!! The storylines flow well and occasionally go in ways American programs just can't anymore. Rent them and enjoy the wit of Frazier, the slapstick of Keaton and the intelligence of a script not written to be understood by dumblewits only. Oh and the scenery?, stunning!!!

    Why can't I live in Sicily, Alaska?

    Sicily, Alaska. Home to unique characters, who'll become part of you very quickly, and interesting stories with meaning. Not your average TV series. Enjoy it, I know you will!
