Laugh out loud!

This film is the funniest thing me and my boyfriend have seen in a long time. As long as you are over 20 and under 50 and have a sense of humour, it should appeal to you.
The references to the 80's films were very clever, they've managed to capture the mood of the 80's and mix it excellently with the slapstick humour of 'Air Plane'.- Was this review helpful to you?

Woefully overlooked at 75th Academy Awards
By a customer , 11 Oct 2012A worthy pastiche, dare I say it homage, to some of the best motion pictures of the 1980s and 1990s, which themselves owed much to the French New Wave films of the late 1960s that were directed by legends such as Truffaut. (Just read the classic 1954 essay 'Une certaine tendance du cinéma français' and consider its reference to 'la politique des Auteurs').
I am sure that this film was overlooked at the 75th Oscars because of its many references to scatological practices and incest, although the inclusion of the latter in the neo-noir film 'The Grifters' did not stop it from being nominated for 4 Oscars including Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Director.
A gem of a film, one you'll want to watch again and again. Enjoy.- Was this review helpful to you?
