One good performance does not make it a good film

An unconvincing melodrama made tolerable only by Judi Dench's performance.

Step forward for your award Dame Judy......

Is there actually no end to the talent and range our acting first lady! This film is a slow building, dramatic master which slowly unfolds into an explosive ending. Cate and Judy are two of the best actresses we have just now and its a pleasure to see them both here with the always excellent Bill Nighy.
