Nuns On The Run

This has got to be one of the funniest films I've ever seen - its a laugh a minute and some great acting - including some great one liners from the late, great Doris Hare. I haven't howled with laughter so much - it definately worth watching!

I have mixed feelings about this. Some of the cleverer bits of the script - like a discussion about the Doctrine of the Trinity, or the time when Robbie Coltrane disguised as a nun is asked to supervise a load of naked giggly teenage girls as they take a shower - are very funny. And there's no question the plot is very easy to follow. But too much of the movie is just slapstick for the sake of slapstick with no 'intelligence' to the plot at all. For the record, Eric Idle (of Monty Python fame) and Coltrane escape gangsters by disguising themselves in turns as nuns, nurses and eventually air hostesses. I'm sure they enjoyed the dressing up! Even for a Pythonesque comedy this was all just too far fetched. If having read my review you're unsure - well, go ahead and rent it. Coming in at under an hour and a half it's no great loss if you watch it just once and don't enjoy it much.

Best film ever loved it. very funny everyone loves the shower scene. its about 2 guys who want out of a gang that want them dead they hide out as nuns but pretending to be a woman isnt easy.

Moderatly funny although ultimately silly british comedy, o.k. as a last resort.

funny silly dated but such likeable guys and plenty of laughs that it is real feel good easy film to leave you with pleasant amused feeling for rest of the day
