Ocean's 11

This caper comedy, perhaps the most uncharacteristic film of director Lewis Milestone's career, stars Frank Sinatra as Danny Ocean. He pulls together a collection of ten old war buddies to pull a heist of five casinos on the same night. Not surprisingly, the characters happen to be members of the fabled Rat Pack: Sam Harmon (Dean Martin), Josh Howard (Sammy Davis Jr.) Mushy O'Connors (Joey Bishop) and Jimmy Foster (Peter Lawford). Everything goes right until, of course, something goes wrong.

    Poor Film - Beware

This film is very flawed. The dialogue is awful and the first hour is very slow. The acting is wooden at best. The twists in the plot at the end almost save it, but there are so many redundant characters and dead end story-lines that leave you scratching your head wondering what that was all about. I would look for the modern version which can only be better.

    • 21 Sep 2007

He starred in Fight Club alongside Edward Norton and now it looks like Brad Pitt is set to take the lead in another brawl-based flick: The Fighter. The Fighter tells the story of Irish-American boxer Mickey Ward - played by Mark Wahlberg - and his half-brother Dicky Eckland - Brad Pitt. Brad Pitt is taking on the character of Eckland after Matt Damon pulled out due to scheduling problems.
