Great Film
By a customer from London, England , 30 Sep 2007[Highly rated reviewer]
I remember seeing this film as a child, and again as an early twenties something. Both times it has stuck in my head. Although done in Black and White, the story easily makes you forget about any need for colour or brilliant special effects. There is a famous line in the film, which I am never quite sure if the line came from the film, or the line was just in the film, either way, you'll have to watch to find out.
The film is similar to Carve her Name with Pride, which I think was loosely based on the same story. Brave people remembered well.- Was this review helpful to you?

Based on true heroics
By itstinks (681 reviews) from North of Reading , 25 Jan 2013Enjoyable tale about british heroics in helping the french resistance based on the true story of Odette Churchill. Well made and directed with some amazing acting at times by Neagle. Early movie for Ustinov as well.- Was this review helpful to you?

A very brave woman
By JJcarroll (29 reviews) , 29 Feb 2012A film showing the courage of people who went into German occupied Europe to organize equip and fight with the resistance. Well acted by the two main characters but when you read the history of what Odette did the film falls short.- Was this review helpful to you?

Brave souls not well served
By HDX (124 reviews) from Barry, Wales , 20 Mar 2010Ordinary people did extraordinary things during World War Two and this is the story of one of them. The telling of it in this film, one feels, doesn't really do it justice though by the end you are in no doubt about the ordeals the central characters had to endure. This is good subject matter for a better film. Peter Ustinov, as always, is irritating.- Was this review helpful to you?
