The Best TV has to offer!

Season 3 of The Office, what can I say! The US version I feel has taken the office to a new level…. It is absolutely amazing. The acting is absolutely fantastic, the characters are great and it’s a well-balanced show. Season 3 is the top quality- and it would be difficult to be better than what it is! After a Poor season 1 and a good season 2, I think Season 3 establishes the show as one of the greatest modern comedy shows in history! So watch them in order, just keep faith with it…. It gets better and better!

geez, i cant say enough about this series. when i started watching the american version of a genius brit comedy i was convinced it would be awful, but as each series passes it gets better and to be honest series 3 is better then anything the british version did. and i am very patriotic! watch and enjoy. bring on series 4!!!

    Ok

I tried not to compare it to the british version but its pretty much impossible. Its nt bad at all its just not done as well. The actors seem too self aware and the stories a little too heavy handed. Steve Carrell is great though as a much more sympathetic character than Brent ever was. Its the supporting cast that let it down for me. I enjoyed it but just not that much, there are some good scenes though in particular the convention episode was very good. A good show but just not lliant like the original.

    Get past the first series

If you can get past the poor first series where they try and reversion the UK episodes and start developing independent story lines for the US characters it really comes into it's own. The format is similar to the UK one but with less of a 'reality' look. The David Brent character is much easier to like and feel sorry for and dare I say it but I think I prefer the character of Dwight over Gareth. Sacrilegious I know but, I think I prefer the US version to the UK one and it keeps getting better and better with each series.

    Love it

love the american version of the office, season 1 is not that great but from then onwards it realy comes in to its own, Dwight is probably the funniest character ever!

    why do i love this?

..because it is not the UK one! because Steve Carrell can deliver a line effortlessly! because it feels like the cast do not know how good they are (unlike the occassionally smug uk cast) and most importanty the cast can hold a tv series together and manage an A-list career successfully, can the uk bunch say the same thing??? i think not.

    Revenge for MacDonald's?

A truly heroic attempt to transport quintessentially English humour across the Atlantic.

For some reason that scene in 'Three Men in a Boat' with Herr Slossenn Boschen and his great German comic song.kept coming into my mind...
