Old Grey Whistle Test, The - Vol. 2 Details

Refreshing - Excellent music DVD for real music fans!

To comment that the songs on this DVD are 'obscure' is, in my view, nothing short of naive. The whole point of 'The Old Grey Whistle Test' was to cast a spotlight on bands and artists that would not normally get any 'commercial' attention allowing people with a more refined and mature music pallette access to these new / alternative acts. If you want 'songs that you know', I suggest you get a DVD of Top of the Pops. If you want to see some timeless groundbreaking acts, most of which chose not to 'sell out' commercially, this is a treasure of a DVD. There were very few of the songs that I was familiar with but that did not detract from the top quality performances herein. A must for real music fans - rock / prog / punk / folk / 80's electro - a real mixed bag!

This disc is actually the second of the original OGWT and features various artists from 1979-85. Alot of footage of the big names today, as they started - U2, Gary Numan etc. Unfortunately the sound quality isn't up to much.
