Most helpful review Oliver's Story

  • Not as good as 'Love Story' but a good 1970's yarn.

    [Highly rated reviewer]

Ryan Oneill is a widowed man with the dual chips on each shoulder of 'I lost my wife so young' and 'Oh I'm rich and no one will want me except for my money'.

The film is his path to removing these chips/hang ups and it is dated as the 1970s were concerned with class war etc..

But the typical 1970's cast including Oneill carry the script and story more or less and make it entertaining.

I think this was a formulaic rehash of the 'Love Story' film with Allie McGraw. To some extent or perhaps a sequel really - life after Allie. Not sure if the year makes it such or not?

All in all a reasonably entertaining film and if you have some nostalgia for the 1970's and liked the film 'Love Story' then this is a film you should see.

But it is not a 'must see'.
