A feelgood type of movie, it manages to be funny and sad at the same time. Saw it at the Cinema last week and had quite a few out-loud laughs, as did various other watchers. Being from about 12 miles away from Glasgow, some of the settings for the film were familiar to us.
Nothing new to be seen in this movie but makes a nice change from American blockbusters. Some of the sub-plots are a little cliched and seem to always turn up in these types of movie. Estranged fathers/sons and men being thrown on the heap past a certain age.
Still it does have a nice message - no matter what your age there is always a new challenge and life is there to be lived.
