This is a dumb teenage sex comedy with supernatural overtones and a very hit-and-miss gags quotient. Countess Lauren Hutton is a 400-year-old vampire looking for virgin blood in Los Angeles. Supplies are short until she picks up a student nerd (future superstar Jim Carrey) who hasn't managed to get his girlfriend Karen Kopins into bed. As he takes on more undead qualities, Carrey gets amusingly cooler but ultimately turns his back on the complete vampire lifestyle. Cleavon Little as Hutton's gay manservant has some funny moments, but eventually the one-joke premise screeches to a halt under Howard Storm's lifeless direction.
Dispiriting attempt to mix genres without even a tinge of talent or sophistication.

Lauren Hutton and Cleavon Little camp up their roles and leave a young Jim Carey in the shadows as the third string support. A good laugh.
Loved this film when I first saw it. It looks very 80s, but still fab. Love the butler.

Jim Carrey's Debut is a must watch slice of 80's cheese, which I hadn't seen since the original VHS release.

It was ok, but i expected more from a Jim Carrey film, but then I suppose it was one of his firsts.
