    [Highly rated reviewer]

This 2 disc set arrived together in one see through paper case - unusual, but at least it was together. Perhaps it was a one off. Disc One contained all 6 episodes from the final series, but disc 2 disappointingly only contains the documentary which preceded the final episode, which was also on the release 'The Very Best of One Foot in the Grave', which I had only recently released.

The 2 christmas specials 'Starbound' and 'Endgame' plus 2 comic relief specials from 1993 and 2001 were not on the second disc as I was expecting. It turns out that there is another disc with these on, which is only available on the Box Set release, which Lovefilm haven't got, so the meanies at 2 entertain are obvoiusly trying to get the poor saps who brought the series in stages, to purchase the box set also.

I have emailed Lovefilm to see if they are getting the box set, so that we can see the other disc.

we loved watching One Foot In The Grave with Victor and Margaret. The episodes are:

The Executioner's Song - Victor has a new job as a window-cleaner. Meanwhile, Patrick's plans for a quiet birthday are ruined after an unfortunate misunderstanding involving a modern art painting and Pippa finds herself in an adulterous affair.

Tales of Terror - Victor is angry at the poor job builders have made of his new barbecue. Meanwhile, their new car needs to have its obscene number plates changed, and Victor has a health scare, perhaps brought about by playing an amateur-dramatic vampire.

The Futility of the Fly - Victor regrets hiring an attractive cleaner to help around the house as he inadvertently gets Mrs. Warboys tattooed. Meanwhile, Mrs Warboys finds a deep-fried finger in her chips and a large plastic fly is delivered.

Threatening Weather - After a powercut on the hottest day of the year, Victor has nothing better to do than complain. Later the Meldrews play host to an incontinent visitor (played by Roy Hudd).

The Dawn of Man - Victor's new fishing hobby leads to an unfortunate encounter with a Fly-tipping. Meanwhile, a visit from Patrick's gay twin brother leaves Pippa feeling mentally and physically exhausted, especially when Patrick sits on a cork.

Things Aren't Simple Anymore - After a disappointing reunion dinner, Victor is killed in a road accident. Afterwards, Margaret faces up to life without him, but receives another shock when she discovers that Victor's killer is her new best friend Glynis (played by Hannah Gordon). What she then does is left ambiguous.

    Well worth watching !

What a great series this is, good clean fun from the very first episode, to the very last.

The last episode is a bit sad, but it does leave an aire of mystery to it. I won't spoil this series for anyone, but if you want a good laugh, get this series, we certainly will, it worth watching over and over.

  • The Last Series - I Don't Believe It!!

One foot in the Grave, starring Richard Wilson - purportedly the most miserable man on the planet and Anette Crosbie his long suffering wife was one of the best comedy series going. Although the aim was to show Victor Meldrew as the grumpiest man in the World, in fact most of the situations making him grumpy are those that would make any one of us express his famous catch phrase. He tells the delivery boy to leave his new potted plant in the downstairs toilet, then find that it has been planted in the toilet bowl itself - I don't believe it - and neither - understandibly - did Victor.

Sadly this was the last series and the demise of Victor means that there will be no more. Sad - we don't produce comedies as good as this anymore.

I endured all six seasons of this, took a while to get into it, but when I finally did, the series ends... go figure
