British cinema has had some embarrassing blots on its copybook, but it's hard to think of many more shoddily inept outings than writer/director Chris Cooke's feature debut. Stripped of their licenses for drink driving, boy racer Greg Chisholm, cabbie Mark Devenport, salesman Rupert Procter and wealthy entrepreneur Hywel Bennett refuse to take their rehabilitation classes seriously and end up putting the world to rights in the local pub. The dire proceedings culminate in a drunken confrontation at Bennett's mansion, but the majority of the audience will have long ceased to care about these vulgar losers or their miserable lives.

As much as I am a fan of british films, it must be said that there is not too much fun to be had watching four self-pitying losers ..

A curious plodder with fine acting but offers sketchy explanation for how, and more importantly why, the men have ended up dependent on alcohol.
It ticks all the alcohol dependency issue boxes: impotence, family breakdown, boredom and social routine, and doesn't overdue the cliched woozy out of focus first person shots. It feels semi realistic but doesn't come close to 'Nil By Mouth' for gritty attitude.
