    [Highly rated reviewer]

An intriguing meditation on modernity and humanity form the basis of this gentle apocalyptic drama. Two middle class couples with no useful survival skills hide from an umentioned armageddon in an attractive corner of the Irish country side. Around them society, their relationships with their neighbours and with each other, decays and collapses. This is a thinly veiled depiction of an armageddon that is economic in nature, creating scenes reminiscent of the withdrawal of Rome from Northern Europe, a sense of high civilization in collapse. Whatever has happened is cataclysmic, invisible and beyond the comprehension of most people. The central protagonists are the product of society that no longer needs them and whose lives become increasingly bleak and meaningless. This is a subtle portrayal of how the world ends, not with a bang, but with a whimper. That final cigarette at the ambiguous end symbolises so much.

  • One Hundred Minutes of my life wasted...!

This is the worst - and I mean THE WORST - film that I have ever seen! Nothing happens and there is no exciting end. Don't waste 85mins of your life watching this heap of dire rubbish. If you can find anything remotely interesting in this film then I feel sorry for you since you clearly don't have a life.

Wow. Erm, not sure what to think. If you like dark, moody, slow-paced films with very little storyline then perhaps this is for you. Dropping into a story with no idea what's happened, you spend the entire film waiting for something to happen or at least hints of what has happened, but no, other than a few moments of predictable 'action' nothing really happens at all... and then it ends.
