Most helpful review One Step Beyond Collection

  • Interesting Series, shame about the quality!

    [Highly rated reviewer]

I remember this from when I was a kid back in the early Sixties - in fact I remember watching this more than The Twilight Zone, and pretty spooky it was too!

Obviously 'inspired' by The Twilight Zone, this is more about the supernatural, featuring supposed true stories, complete with its own presenter, John Newland. Whilst not as good as TTZ, it does have its moments.

Unfortunately, the series fell out of copyright and into the public domain, and the picture quality is very poor as presumably nobody wants to pay to have it remastered (if the originals still exist).

Just about watchable, but better on a small screen - it will look pretty awful on a large screen HD TV!
