Ok but not impressive for Stephanie Plum fansBy a customer , 12 Jun 2012
[Highly rated reviewer]Being a huge fan of the books I guess my expectations were going to be high so I didnt expect it to be as good but was still very dissapointed. When reading the books this movie is based on I literally laughed out loud alot which is unusal for me as I am not a big reader, so expected this to be alot funnier. I am guessing the choice of using Katherine Hiegl didnt help, she just brings along her usual self to the film with a very bad accent!

Don't take it too seriously and you might enjoy itBy a customer , 24 Feb 2013I love the 'Stephanie Plum' novels - although the last few are way down on the scale, 'dialling it in' is the phrase I believe. But the first books were excellent, and so when I heard the terrible reviews of this film I was a bit loathe to watch it. In the end, I think it's best to judge things for yourself, so having now watched it, I have to say it was 'ok'. Nothing special but not awful. There just seems to be a spark missing which the books have and the film doesn't, which is a shame. I would also question the casting a bit - Lula is perfect but the rest, hmm. I mean, Joe Morelli is supposed to be Italian descent and it's not only part of his look, but part of his personality. And he's too short! As is Ranger! I'm really not sure what happened to Ranger but in the book, he's this presence. In the film, bland. They really needed 'The Rock' in that role. Grandma is also different casting, but I think that it works ok. It's not always absolutely necessary to stick to the book religiously, if it'll work another way but it just didn't with Joe or Ranger. And as they are two main characters, it seems a little off. There are several errors too, which I don't normally notice, but a gun that is referred to as a 5-shot several times miraculously has a continual shot ability of between 7 and 10 at different times! It also apparently goes dark really quickly in NJ... On the whole, it passed the time and we didn't regret watching it. I may even watch it again if it was on, but I think it's a shame it wasn't as good as it could be.
An enjoyable filmBy robbie70 (4 reviews) from London , 16 Feb 2013Ok so the film wont appear in the list of top 100 films you have to see before you die - but if you want a fun, nice entertaining movie to watch to take your mind off things and entertain you then this is a great movie. Very enjoyable
Heigl fans should miss this oneBy RussnEmma (403 reviews) from London, England , 10 Feb 2013If you love Heigl films like 27 dresses, really dont waste your time with this one. Such a let down. Not much i can think of to be positive about this film. Weak plot, not a great script and rather bitty.
I did all I could to like this film.By a customer , 30 Jan 2013I really wanted to like this film - I'm a Heigl fanatic, and have never before disliked anything she's done. It's quite a good thriller, but obvious from the beginning, no real climax moments and genuinely quite slow moving. Sadly, it was one of those films that would return to the back of the cupboard - genuinely wish I'd given it a miss, not just because it was a bit of a waste of time but Heigl, what happened?! :(
Don't botherBy brynjapals (2 reviews) , 29 Jan 2013I only watched about 15 minutes of this and then had to stop - it was so bad! The acting, Katherine's fake accent and the script....all just hideous.
