DISC ONE REVIEW
WHERE IS EVERYBODY?
A man find himself in a world with no people. An interesting and atmospheric openening episode. Great use of tilted camera and an effective mirror scene (watch out for it!). Thoughtful if slightly dissapointing climax. With commentary by the lead star. 7/10
ONE FOR THE ANGELS
A comedy episode with good performances. A bit silly but enjoyable anyway.6/10
MR. DENTON ON DOOMSDAY
Good episode set in the wild west. Features a commentary by Martin Landau who plays the baddie (though the lead actor gives the best performance)7/10
SIXTEEN MILLIMETRE SHRINE
Weak version of Sunset Boulevard with an SF twist.4/10
WALKING DISTANCE
Excellent, moving and thought provoking episode despite some plot holes. Includes a fascinating commentary that is actually Serling giving an interactive lecture about this episode.9/10
ESCAPE CLAUSE
Another comedy episode with a typical devasating Twilight Zone ending.6/10
If it weren't for the Twilight Zone, most of the television and movies we watch today wouldn't exist. One of the most inspirational series of all time, this series helps explain why. Almost every episode is highly entertaining and years ahead of its time, and the reason so many stories will seem familiar is because most of them have been borrowed from (or ripped off, if you will) over time. If you haven't seen The Twilight Zone before, consider these an education and a wake-up call. Essential.
