Since striking out from the sitcom Full House, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have built up quite a following in the United States. But the toothsome twosome's antics have yet to catch on here and this frivolous teen caper suggests plenty of reasons why. Unable to stay schtum after witnessing a crime, the twins are whisked off to Sydney under the FBI's Witness Protection Programme. But the mobsters soon catch up with them and a modicum of plot threatens to interrupt their shopping and sightseeing. With its patronising depiction of Australia as a land of endless beach parties, this is eminently resistible fluff.

    Don't bother

One of the not so good Mary-Kate & Ashley movies. If you have to rent one of their movies I'd go for When in Rome or Passport to Paris at a push.

    One of the good ones

According to my 9 year old daughter, Mary-Kate and Ashley movies fall into two categories, good ones and not very good ones. This one is in the 'good ones' category. Does this say it all for the target audience?

    Good for young children

My daughter who is 9 said she loved this film. I find the olsen twins a bit boring but then I am an adult! I think they are mainly for young girls. As a result I did not watch this film. It is about a couple of girls who are trying to escape being chased by crooks and the girls are on a witness protection programme. Do they get caught? My daughter told me the whole story but I won't spoil what happens!

    CAN YOU KEEP A SECRET?

Look who grew up: in Our Lips Are Sealed Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, once the sleepy-eyed preschoolers in the hit TV sitcom Full House, wake to find themselves ready for their first day of high school. But the day doesn't shape up as ultra-fantastically as in their dreams.

A series of bizarre circumstances force them into a life-threatening situation in which only the FBI Witness Protection Program can help. It turns out that Mary-Kate and Ashley are their own worst enemies; the girls continually blow their cover until finally they're booted down under to the warm and sparkling recreation mecca of Sydney, Australia. Here the challenge to keep a secret takes second fiddle to the bigger challenges of fitting in with the popular group, learning Aussie lingo, and changing into a new set of adorable clothes and accessories in almost every scene.

Fans from the ages of 6 to 13 will probably enjoy the daft antics of the Olsens, their adventures with cute boyfriends, and their ability to thwart the goofy bad guys. Also, their acting ability--although crippled by yet another bubblehead script--continues to improve. To the parental crowd, the film plays somewhat like a New Age beach-blanket movie with plenty of surfer parties, flower-power fun, overblown story points, mild potty humour, and lots of belly buttons (LOTS of belly buttons).
