I have to agree with other reviewers that this undoubtedly 'old-fashioned' 1970's BBC adaptation of Dickens 'Our Mutual Friend' was very difficult to get into. Unless you are prepared to sit down and concentrate on the first episode you will quickly give up. Admittedly the filming, costumes, scenery and props, as well as some of the acting, is not as slick as it is today, but if you stick with it, it does get better, and you will be repaid in full with a great Dickens, convoluted, gripping and enjoyable tale. It should be noted that it takes a long time to watch it all.
