Steven Seagal gets more dialogue than in all his other movies put together in this lukewarm attempt to give him a lot more heart and soul. He plays a Brooklyn cop with the comedic name of Gino Felino, who comes up against old neighbourhood foe William Forsythe, resulting in much retaliatory violence. Frankly, Seagal is no actor and his career has been founded upon his ability to look cool in combat situations, rather than convey the sort of softly spoken sadness he's aiming for here. There are plenty of adequate action scenes, but stabs at characterisation are a big mistake under the circumstances.
Despite the title, our hero is out for revenge, and the bloodier the better. The familiar theme is played out with the maximum amount of violence.
Hollywood bodyguard turned producer/star, Seagal sees this as a progression from the foundation of his action films... read more on Time Out
This is not your usual cop film. This is a gritty drama about a guy gone mental with a death wish. Segal plays a great part as an italian american who is respected by the mafia. A great film - very violent and very real (apart from the cool Segal kicks a whole bars ass) and worth a watch.
Another great choreographed film by Steven Seagal. What an excellent film, not for people who cant accept harsh language and lots of violence. Definately one of my favourites.
When you are relaxed, tired or just plain drunk - you don't want to think too hard. So stick on a Seagal movie & see some bad guys get their asses kicked. The whole point of this movie is to demonstrate how badly Seagal could whoop your ass if he had to. He can injur whole rooms full of gun wielding scum without breaking sweat. He is even more powerful & respected than his local mafia Don.
The women love him. He asks after an old female contact & she replies 'I can still get it wet'. Scripts like this come along every 30 years. Just so happens that Seagal did a number of these movies in 1 go. Great urban violent movie, makes you laugh at times & who doesn't like seeing scum dealt with as they should be! Great!

AS USUAL ANOTHER GOOD KICK ASS MOVIE.GREAT IF YOU HAVEN`T ALREADY SEEN THIS.
I liked the accents and the action. Seagal is the best.
These are the films that Seagal shines in - virtually no script of sorts so he doesn't have to worry about acting. Instead all he has to do is show off his martial arts skills and classic ass kicking moves.
Steven Seagal is a chump. He can't act, he looks ridiculous and he hasn't made a decent film in about 15 years. . . But, back in the day when Seagal's star was on the rise, a couple of his films actually managed to be entertaining. Marked for Death was one, this was the other.
These days he's reduced to playing some sort of eco-warrior or environmental activist but Out For Justice sees him in the only role he can play convincingly - a cop with a bad attitude! One with a handy knack of tying people up in knots and snapping limbs. Tackling his childhood enemy and other assorted scum on the streets of Brooklyn, Seagal even gets to do a spot of emoting in between the bone-crunching violence.
High-brow this ain't, but it's gritty, hard hitting and doesn't pull any punches. By aiming low, Out for Justice rarely fails to hit the mark.
Mean, saturday night fun for the sick minded.
Out for Justice, This is much much better, Steven is back on top form with this film about a Brooklyn cop Gino Felino is about to go outside and play catch with his son Tony when he receives a phone call alerting him that his best friend Bobby Lupo has been shot dead in broad daylight on 18th Avenue in front of his wife Laurie Lupo and his two kids by drug kingpin Richie Madano, who has been Gino and Bobby's enemy since childhood. As Gino is hunting Madano down, Gino discovers the motive behind Bobby's murder. This is when Gino's hunt for Madano leads to the showdown of a lifetime. Fast action film throughout, super acting, fantastic martial art kicks, story attention-grabbing - all round fantastic entertaining.
Steven seagals better films and worth a watch
Intentionally misspelled. A bit like some of the subtitles. But you get the jist. Violence for violence sake. Unlike some of segal's Better films this must come bottom of the list. I don't go looking for bad films to review but sometimes when I have seen most of the work Segal has done and go back and watch this I am disappointed.
He has so much to offer as a martial artist to the film industry, yet he wastes it on this. Under Siege1 & 2 were good films from an action point of view as well as many others I could mention but this one comes as a mental block.
Good action sequences as usual but a bit too blood thirsty.
