I have only just got round to watching this film - have been meaning to since 1985! Meryl Streep is reliable as ever. The character and the premise of the film reminds me of the Nicole Kidman/Hugh Jackman/Buz Luhrman film from a couple of years back, AUSTRALIA. Except I enjoyed AUSTRALIA a tad better than Out Of Africa.
I think the difference between the two is that 'Africa' is more subtle whereas 'Australia' is more grand and bold in making its statements.
