Not a bad film but with it being a true story tends to be a bit slow in parts.
With it being based on fact the final outcome is pretty obvious, but well worth a look at.
very good movie, touching and aptly depicting the events during the ww2 from the perspective of a surviving doctor in the gory refugee camps. The fact that its a true story i.e., something that one of us has endured at one time makes the viewer's spine tingle.A fantastic movie.
Christine Laht as Dr Gisella Perl gave a very moving performance, showing all the conflict and emotion that must have been felt by Dr Perl. You could feel the anxiety as situations changed, the dilemma of 'is this right or wrong', doing what you thought was best when there was little that could be done. All stars give excellent performances in this powerful potrayal of the book, which I certainly intend to read. Brilliant, well worth watching.

Beautifuuly portrayed, and good historical record. Heartwrenching at times as one would expect of a Holocaust film.

Like a stage play. Over-acted melodrama. Not awful though, just a bit corny.
Great story, well told.
Very well done film including the wonderful Christine Lahti and dastardly Jonathan Cake.
Miss Lahti is exceptional in the role of Jewish doctor in Auschwitz Camp in the 40's. Jonathan Cake is the most devious Nazi, damaging and killing the women in the Camp when he feels it is necessary to show his power. Well worth a viewing!
This is quite a harrowing story but very well done. It is a true story, the acting is faultless this is a real gem of a film. Highly recommend.
