More Moon, Less Moore!
By a customer from Reading, England , 19 Oct 2004[Highly rated reviewer]
Dear Patrick Moore, we love him don't we? If it had been anyone else putting in this semi-incoherent performance we would have laughed loud and long. But it's Patrick...bless. Lot's of repetition here and lots of straining to follow Patrick's 'stroke-victim' speak but his raw enthusiasm and gravitas save this from being truly unwatchable. For Patrick fans only!- Was this review helpful to you?

(13)OK
By a customer from New Milton , 05 Feb 2008This is very much in the style of an episode of 'The Sky at Night'. It's always good to see and hear Patrick Moore but this programme is pretty feeble. As anyone in the UK who is interested in astronomy knows, the 1999 eclipse was very disappointing for most people (British weather!) and this programme tries (and fails) to portray the event as spectacular. Also, the main programme is only 50 minutes long so, all in all, only one for the hardened Patrick Moore fans.- Was this review helpful to you?

Utter Tripe!
By a customer from Plymouth , 07 Jan 2007This is rubbish. The production values are rubbish. The film maker manages to interview only the people that are tearing away the economic heart of cornwall. The footage of the eclipse is uninteresting, the people are uninteresting. Do not rent this series then hopefully it will never see the light of day again.- Was this review helpful to you?

Impossible to understand (hear)
By a customer from London, England , 21 Aug 2006I rented this DVD because of Patick Moore. Unfortunately bless the great man, he has now reached such an age that he simply mutters and whizzes through his sentences inaudibly (think Rowley Birkin QC of the Fast Show), thus making it impossible to understand/hear what he is saying. There are no subtitle features either, which for a DVD to be released in this day and age is inexcusable. Avoid- Was this review helpful to you?

Lots of contemporary footage
By a customer from Betheda, Wales , 18 Aug 2006Essentially a collection of contemporary footage describing each of the Apollo missions in turn. I felt it was interesting and learnt a few things. No mention of pre- or post-Apollo missions. No mention of the Russians, odd that. It would be immensely tedious for someone without an keen interest in moon exploration.- Was this review helpful to you?

Mmmm...mediocre
By John Osborne from Mars, Solar System, Milky Way , 12 Apr 2006Not too bad but a bit dated now and rather old hat. It happened 6 years ago now! Not sure why i borrowed it myself. Definitely for the beginner only- Was this review helpful to you?
