I started with very low expectations of this movie and it does start out as a action movie by numbers, but once you get beyond the fact that all the Vikings speak with Irish accents it is a decent movie. The characters are pretty one dimensional but then again I wasn't expecting Shakespeare. The action scenes are top notch and the movie moves along at a cracking pace. The director has been influenced by Predator and Highlander which can only be a good thing.
There was some good action and a decent, if odd, plot involving Vikings, space men and an alien monster, but the film was hampered by slow patches.
The love interest angle slowed the pace to shuffling at times and I really wanted to see things get a move on.
The trailer makes it look pacey and fast all through while actually there are some dead spots.
That said, the action and CGI effects were great and whilst I'd never buy (or probably watch again) this film I did enjoy it.
