College freshman Wyatt Trips, is in love, but his girlfriend Kim, is a thousand miles away at another college. Life on campus is teeing with temptation, but the couple swear to remain faithful. Then Trips hears that Kim has spent the night with someone called 'The Ricker'. Stunned, Trips drowns his sorrows in a sleazy bar and spills his guts to Ivy, an exotic dancer, about Kim's betrayal. The outrageous Ivy suggests a plan for revenge, the ultimate "kiss-off" letter with a staged picture of Trips and Ivy in a bare-breasted clinch. When he gets home there's a message from Kim, explaining that 'The Ricker' was a dog she's looking after for someone. Trips and Ivy now embark on a crazy car chase across America to intercept the letter or leat it to Kim.

With Pleasantville, Cruel Intentions and Election, Reese Witherspoon was on a roll. This could be regarded as one of her misfires and it went straight to video over here, though it's an entertaining enough teen romp. Paul Rudd plays a frustrated student who drowns his sorrows with a stripper (Witherspoon) when he discovers that his virginal girlfriend is apparently stepping out with a jock. Having sent compromising “evidence” of his sexual prowess through the post to his girlfriend, he is horrified to discover that she has been with a dog rather than a fellow student. He and Witherspoon then have 24 hours to intercept the post. The two leads spark off each other quite nicely, but it's a slight affair.
