A classic partnership

James May and Oz Clarke are a classic partnership - the wine master and his often buffonish apprentice. For a long while Richard Hammond had been the comedy element to Top Gear while May took the rather snobbish role on the show, so it's good to see the roles reversed. Add to this the gorgeous scenery of France and the interesting subject matter and this makes for a great Sunday afternoon watch.- Was this review helpful to you?

Loved it.
By Alan from Wirral, England. , 16 Feb 2008I missed this first time around on the TV. I have always been a wine fan, and like both James May and Oz so the DVD was a perfect choice for me. I loved the way that Oz tries so hard to teach James some wine culture as well as the basics of wine tasting and appreciation. Their journey across France is great fun and very informative. I'm really glad I rented this one, very enjoyable and highly recommended.- Was this review helpful to you?

Not only will you laugh out loud at Oz and James's antics but you will learn some interesting facts about wine at the same time. For those of you who cannot stand Oz Clarke (Myself included) James May's acerbic wit is a great counterpoint to Oz's annoying personality. I watched the entire series in one sitting and was still left wanting more!! Cant wait for series 2 on DVD.- Was this review helpful to you?
