A great Mini Series worth watching,i missed it on t.v...glad it was realeased on dvd.......
Over the past few years ITV have been becoming better at producing dramas. POW is a good example of this and shows that you do not need an amateur detective to make a prime time TV show.
Based on stories from World War Two veterans, POW acts as a 6 part drama showing the attempts by allied soldiers to escape a Prisoner of War camp. We get to care about the characters and discover their motivations.
With a strong cast and good story the first five episodes rattle along well. However, the series is let down by the final episode that explains little of what happened and acts as a damp squib on an otherwise strong show.
4 out of 5 for the first disc, 2 out of 5 for the second.
A series worth watching for fans of war films like the Great Escape.
