Unusual but overrated comedy, imperfectly adapted from a very funny book, with careful but disappointing period sense and photography. A lot more style and gloss was required.

    Thoroughly recommend!

One of my favourite films of all time.Tatum O'neal as orphan Addie is magnificent and steals the show.I think she was only around 8 or 9 years old when she made this and she won an oscar for her role. Some great scenes and a lovely story.
