Acclaimed Anime film director Satoshi Kon ('Perfect Blue', 'Millennium Actress) makes the leap to television with the series 'Paranoia Agent'. Kon combines film-quality images with ambitious social commentary and an unusual, episodic, and multi-character narrative structure. At the centre of the series is the serial assaulter Shounen Bat, who races around town attaching people with a baseball bat. Circling around the actions of the criminal are the policemen charged with arresting him, and the many victims of his violence. 'Serial Psychosis: Volume Three' contains three episodes from the series: 'Happy Family Planning', 'Etc' and 'Mellow Maromi'. Shounen Bat's infamy is rapidly spreading across the city, and everyone views him in a different way. Some see him as a hero, others as an object for gossip and suspicion, and still others as the representative of an alienated populace. Pressure continues to be placed on the police to catch the attacker as madness sweeps the city.

You won't know what hit ya...
We were afraid to drive home.
This is fast becoming like a manga Twilight Zone. Each disc gets more random in the events that occur. This disc features another 3 well written episodes. In one 3 people who meet on the internet decide to commit suicide together only to encounter Lil' Slugger on their way. Not the usual saviour from darkness he usual presents. The second episode sees the cult of Lil' Slugger and the myths he now portrays being taken to the extreme. It would seem not everyone sees him as something bad. The last episode is the standout of the disc. It sees the construction of an cartoon featuring the pink cute character being constructed and each of the members of a animation team explained. The purpose and outcome is a strange tale of desperation.
Paranoia Agent continues as a bizarre and yet attractive story. There is no obvious place for it to turn when each new episode begins. Darkness will enter someones heart and the only thing that is sure is that Lil' Slugger will answer their call. How and why and for who's benefit is never certain.
A must watch!!
couldnt het into this quite boring
