This was an interesting documentary overall with beautifully shots of Paris (but it would be very hard to show this wonderful city in a bad light, n'est-ce pas?!) and interesting snippets of folklore, history and background which got better towards the end. The only criticisms were the irritating 'fast forward' shots, which really served no purpose, and too much of the 'Amélie' music early on, but overall it is well worth watching for lovers of La Ville-lumière - even the occasional flashes of French superiority from Mlle Voillet were forgiveable!

The US review for The Kingdom have been fascinating: of the 114 listed on Rotten Tomatoes as I write this, 58 are generally positive ('fresh') and 56 are negative ('rotten').
