Remember Vogue? This was the inspiration...
Paris is Burning is basically a documentary about the legendary underground Vogue 'houses' in New York, made famous by Madonna and before that, Malcolm McLaren (Deep in Vogue). Don't write this off as a lighthearted piece about New York drag queens though - it is much, much more. An accomplished documentary following a variety of outsiders and their lives, one of the most truly fabulous documentaries I have seen. WATCH IT!
