This is a film about shallow, sordid people and the drug-addled lives they make for themselves. It captures their lives perfectly, helped by terrific performances by a top-notch cast giving their all, but ironically that is the problem. It captures the world too well, ending up with a shallow, sordid little film that irritates as often as it enchants, just like the real-life people it recreates. Although shot on digital video it actually features the slickest and most professional looking photography I've seen so far in the medium. It's not great, but it is well-made and worth seeing for the acting, and the running time passes remarkably swiftly.
